Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen Open New Area

22/03/2019

The Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen latest newsletter is out and about Project Faerthale, a new zone in the works. The team is hoping that the end of the month will "see a new area populated with an encounter that will be playable in its basic form". The goal of the forthcoming encounter is to determine if the fun on paper transfers to fun in the game.

Pantheon’s combat places a focus on preparation and awareness of the enemy. The player can actively dodge, block, or deflect attacks. Spell and ability pre-selection is critical to defeat encounters, as is forging alliances with other players. You won't want to be caught in the wilds of Terminus alone, but an exploration of the vast and dramatically diverse world landscapes will be richly rewarding. Through exploration the player can uncover mysteries and unique adventures as well as acquire rare and exotic spells and abilities from dungeons and challenging encounters.

The newsletter further goes into detail about "Dispositions", an NPC system that grants a chance for them to spawn with "unique strengths, weaknesses and behavioral qualities".

Pantheon Rise of the Fallen is a group-focused MMORPG based on challenging gameplay and open world. It takes place on a world populated by deities and heroes, called Terminus. Mortal and planar shards which have collided create a dramatic and epic environment. The player is a legendary hero, stripped of his or her powerful relics and left to explore the dramatically diverse and epic regions with hopes of reclaiming their relics and those of lost heroes.

Here is a short list of possible Dispositions you could encounter as you explore Terminus:

  • Cunning
  • Deranged
  • Predatory
  • Pyrophobic
  • larmist
  • Sniper
  • Bloodthirsty
  • Acrobatic
  • Truesight
  • Avenging
  • Playful
  • Mastermind

Over time, as a player learns these Dispositions and is able to associate them with different NPC types, they will become more "skilled" within our strategic depth framework of the challenge. Players who choose to go the extra mile and learn, even networking with other players to learn, get rewarded with long-term, strategic benefits within the game.
